Muscle Testing Explained · Houston, TX
Muscle testing is a reflex test that reveals what's really going on inside the body, a window into root causes hiding beneath the symptoms, no diagnosis required.
A Window Into the Body
Muscle Testing (MT), or Muscle Response Testing (MRT), is a reflex test on your body to see what is going on inside of it. This form of testing can show us an issue and how to resolve it: a window into the body to discover what the body already knows.
Many chiropractors use muscle testing, Applied Kinesiology (AK), based on the belief that specific muscle weaknesses can signal, or suggest, internal problems, and show solutions to offset those problems or weaknesses.
I think of muscle testing as a tool that can be used in SO many different ways. Just like water is a tool we can use in different ways: drink for hydration, cook with, clean with, play and swim in. Both water and muscle testing can work for us differently depending on how we use the tool.
Did you know that our conscious mind is only about 5% of all brain activity? Our subconscious mind is the other 95%, ruling our body (how we breathe, blink our eyes, take a step) without our awareness as to how it's working. Muscle testing allows us to tap into that 95% and get feedback from our body about what is really going on.

How It Works
We are all energetic beings. Everything around us is made of energy, including our food, our products, our thoughts, our emotions, and our beliefs. Like a magnet, energy is either attracted to something or repelled from it. We either resonate with it, or we don't.
If the body resonates with something, it stays strong in its presence. If it doesn't, it becomes weak, even if only slightly. The traditional way to test this is by applying gentle pressure to someone's arm while they hold an object, or have it placed on them, to see whether their strength holds.
Elena had muscle testing done on her for the first time in 2018, with Dr. Lewis Cone in Dallas, TX. It was the first time anyone had shown her that her own body could answer questions her mind couldn't.
Ideomotor Response Testing
Ideo (idea) Motor (muscle) Testing is a form of muscle testing that uses a pendulum to show us the answers, rather than applying pressure to someone's arm. I prefer this method when testing. With the pendulum, someone's strength or fatigue doesn't play a factor, and I find the results I get are much more reliable.
When using the pendulum, we're testing from the subconscious mind, which is 95% of brain activity. The subconscious mind is much more aware of the energy around us. An idea from the subconscious sends a nerve response to the muscles in the fingers, creating movement to a pendulum. This movement shows us what the subconscious picks up. FYI, you have to train the pendulum to move in a certain direction for your "yes" and your "no."
"Ideomotor testing means a muscular response to an idea (ideo = idea, motor = muscle). Muscle testing is a form of binary biofeedback, the measure of our body's response to a stimulus. You'll often hear muscle testing described as a way of talking to the body. Since our muscles are controlled by our nerves, we can present the body with a stimulus and understand whether it strengthens or weakens the nervous system." Amanda Mirabella
For Our Clients
We use Muscle Testing to get biofeedback from your body, to discover the root causes holding you back from optimal and vibrant health. We also use it to co-create your best path forward to living your best life.
Optimal health is more than just the health of the physical body. Health incorporates the body, the mind, and the spirit. Because everything is made of energy, including your thoughts and emotions, we use muscle testing to find out what aspects of your being are stressed, or may need some support and attention:
Muscle Testing allows us, anyone and everyone, to look inside the body to see what is going on and what it needs. When we have this information, it's much easier to understand what work needs to be done to reach vibrant health.
Great news: it doesn't need to be done in person. Distance isn't a factor of energy, so muscle testing works just as well virtually as it does in person.
